Hyatt Regency Kolkata

Salt Lake's business anchor — the international hotel that serves Kolkata's IT corridor

H

Hyatt Hotels Corporation

Founder · Est. 2010 · Salt Lake City, Kolkata

The Hyatt Regency Kolkata opened in 2010 in Salt Lake City — Kolkata's planned township that houses IT parks, corporate offices, and the expanding commercial infrastructure of the city's eastern growth corridor. The hotel brought the Hyatt brand's business-traveller focus to the part of Kolkata where the business travellers were actually heading.

The Salt Lake address was strategic: as Kolkata's IT and corporate sectors grew, the demand for quality business hospitality shifted eastward from the traditional Chowringhee address. The Hyatt Regency served this shift by providing international-standard accommodation, conference facilities, and dining at the centre of the new commercial district.

The dining programme — The Waterside Café (all-day), La Cucina (Italian), and Guchhi (Indian) — serves both business guests and Salt Lake's growing residential and commercial population. The hotel's ballroom and conference facilities anchor Salt Lake's MICE business.

The Experience

The hotel operates at the business-travel pace: efficient check-in, well-maintained rooms, conference facilities that function without friction. Salt Lake's planned township provides tree-lined roads and urban order that central Kolkata does not offer — the hotel benefits from this surrounding environment.
