JW Marriott Mumbai Juhu

Juhu Beach's luxury landmark — where Mumbai's entertainment industry meets international hospitality

J

Marriott International

Founder · Est. 2001 · Juhu Beach, Mumbai

The JW Marriott Mumbai Juhu opened in 2001 on Juhu Beach — Mumbai's most famous recreational beach and the neighbourhood of Bollywood's most prominent residents. The hotel brought Marriott's JW luxury brand to a location that was defined by celebrity, entertainment, and the specific energy of Mumbai's western suburbs coastal lifestyle.

The Juhu address positioned the hotel as the suburban luxury alternative to South Mumbai's heritage properties. The entertainment industry — production houses, talent agencies, and the film fraternity — adopted the JW Marriott Juhu as its primary professional hospitality address. The hotel's restaurants, bars, and event spaces became extensions of the industry's social life.

Romano's — the Italian restaurant — and Lotus Café — the all-day dining option — each developed followings that extended beyond hotel guests. The beachside poolscape and the Juhu Beach proximity created a resort-in-city atmosphere that distinguished the property from Mumbai's business-focused luxury hotels.

The Experience

The hotel fronts Juhu Beach — the lobby opens to views of the Arabian Sea. The atmosphere is resort-like rather than business-hotel: poolside lounging, beach proximity, and an energy that comes from hosting Mumbai's entertainment industry. The service is Marriott-international, calibrated for the Juhu audience.
