Shangri-La Eros New Delhi

Connaught Place's Asian luxury — where Hong Kong's hospitality culture meets Lutyens' Delhi

S

Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts (Hong Kong-origin)

Founder · Est. 2007 · Connaught Place, Ashoka Road, Delhi NCR

The Shangri-La Eros New Delhi opened in 2007 on Ashoka Road at the southern edge of Connaught Place — the closest luxury hotel to Delhi's commercial centre. The hotel brought the Shangri-La brand's Asian luxury sensibility — refined, understated, and focused on service — to a location that put it within walking distance of Connaught Place, Janpath, and the city's central business district.

The dining programme reflects the brand's Asian roots: Shang Palace (authentic Chinese cuisine, one of Delhi's most significant Chinese restaurants), Sorrento (Italian), and Mister Chai (the contemporary tea lounge concept). Shang Palace, in particular, established a standard for Chinese cuisine in Delhi that most competitors measure themselves against.

The Connaught Place adjacency gives the Shangri-La a centrality that most Delhi luxury hotels — located in Chanakyapuri or on peripheral roads — cannot match. The hotel is walking distance from Rajiv Chowk metro station, the centre of Delhi's public transport network.

Shangri-La exists in the space between Asian refinement and Indian hospitality. In Delhi, both traditions are deep. We draw from both.

The Experience

The hotel's understated entrance on Ashoka Road opens to a lobby that is large, calm, and Asian in its design sensibility — less ornate than Indian luxury competitors, more refined in its minimalism. The service follows the Shangri-La model: gracious, anticipatory, and rooted in Asian hospitality traditions.
